"We love the community and feel fortunate to call this place home!"
In 2018, Lisa abandoned corporate life to focus on her true passion - playing in the dirt. A long time gardener just for fun, she soon discovered it was even more fun to share flowers with the community. At that point, Backcountry Gardens, the cut flower farm was born.
While Lisa dreams of more and more flowers to grow, Doug and their son DougE, (both former Marines), handle infrastructure, irrigation & tech support. The Barnett's are happy to share the property with 4 dogs, and countless quail, hawks, owls, bobcats, bats, roadrunners, coyotes and many other inhabitants.
Located in the heart of San Diego County, California just a few miles east of the quaint community of Ramona, Backcountry Gardens is named for the diverse terrain and 'gardens' around the property. The Barnett family has inhabited the property since 2011.
